EUFRAS launches 2026 Coffee Breaks with EU-FarmBook: practical knowledge for advisors and farmers
On 29 January, EUFRAS—on behalf of the EU-FarmBook consortium—kicked off the 2026 Coffee Break series with an online session demonstrating how the EU-FarmBook platform helps advisors and farmers turn project results into day-to-day practice.
Fifty participants joined live from more than 80 registrants across 21 countries, underscoring strong demand for accessible, practice-ready knowledge in agriculture and forestry. The session opened with Anita Dzelme (EUFRAS) alongside Robby Cloesen (Boerenbond Projects) and Eduard Mauri (European Forest Institute), all active in the EU-FarmBook project. The monthly, one-hour Coffee Breaks have been already running for two years and will continue in collaboration with projects that deliver practical, usable knowledge for advisors.
Anita Dzelme, Vice Chairman of the Board at the European Forum for Agricultural and Rural Advisory Services (EUFRAS), the Latvian Network of advisory organisations, introduced EU-FarmBook as more than a repository—a bridge between science and practice that makes relevant, trustworthy knowledge easier to find. She said: “From the perspective of EUFRAS, EU‑FarmBook is a super handy platform where advisors can quickly find practical, trustworthy farming and forestry know‑how — from videos and manuals to infographics and other easy‑to‑use materials. It makes it easier for advisors to support farmers with real‑life solutions, thanks to clear, reliable resources created in different EU projects.”
The platform now connects users to practical outputs from around 2,000 registered projects, including 261 Horizon Europe projects and more than 1,500 operational projects.
Belgian EU-FarmBook ambassador Robby Cloesen emphasised that the platform is free of charge, multilingual, available in 24 languages, user-friendly, and built on the FAIR principles—findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. He also presented the project’s objectives and delivered a live, practical demonstration of the platform.
In the closing segment, Eduard Mauri shared key statistics on platform usage and explained how practical project outputs are included in EU-FarmBook.
Anita Dzelme: “For many participants, the chance to use EU‑FarmBook was something completely new, and you could clearly see their excitement — both about the search features and the possibility to upload materials from their own projects. I’m pretty sure that EU‑FarmBook ambassadors across different countries will soon start getting messages asking for all kinds of support!”
EUFRAS leads the Coffee Breaks within the EU-FarmBook consortium to spotlight practice-ready knowledge from across Europe — helping advisors and farmers apply innovation where it matters most.
