EU-FarmBook Evolves with User Feedback
Brussels, Belgium (29 September 2026)
The EU-FarmBook team has collected valuable user feedback with the aim of making the internet platform more accessible, practical and responsive to the needs of its end users: European farmers and other agricultural professionals.
As a project partner, the Committee of Professional Agricultural Organisations and General Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives (Copa-Cogeca) hosted an EU-FarmBook Co-Design Lab at its offices in Brussels on 29 September 2026. The event brought together in total 39 farmers and agricultural representatives for a hands-on session with the EU-FarmBook team to testing and improving the platform.
The programme combined an introduction to EU-FarmBook’s key features with interactive breakout sessions and direct exchanges with project coordinator Prof. Pieter Spanoghe (Ghent University) and social designer Dr Laurens Van der Cruyssen (OSMOS), as well as project ambassadors Pedro Peña Tapia and Giuseppe Sirignano (both Copa-Cogeca).
Practical exercise
The co-design working groups tested EU-FarmBook as part of a practical exercise that addressed the tough challenges faced by farms during the hot, dry summer of 2026. Working both in person and online, they searched the platform for information on improving water management, animal well-being and the resilience of plant production.
Proposals for improvement are welcome
Participants provided both positive and critical feedback on several elements of the platform, including multilingual features, the search function, the chatbot, project pages, the homepage and the content currently available. They then worked collaboratively to develop proposals for improvements through a co-design exercise. The main ideas and recommendations were presented in the Developer Open Forum and Technical Q&A, enabling participants to discuss their experience directly with the EU-FarmBook team.
The outcomes of the session will support ongoing improvements to EU-FarmBook, strengthening its role as a user-oriented platform for knowledge sharing and practical solutions in European agriculture.
